OC fire department provides safety kits

The Oil City Fire Department is providing bleeding control kits to Oil City schools as part of its Mass Casualty Initiative. The kits, which include tourniquets and wound-packing material, will be placed in classrooms city-wide. Stop the Bleed training will be provided to the school district at no cost as part of this plan. The project was largely funded by Oil City VFW Post 464. Shown with the kits are (from left) Lt. Dennis Cherish, firefighter Chad Berry, VFW Commander Jason Reed and Captain Derek Long.
