Polk Center employee facing charges

From staff reports

A Polk Center employee is facing charges in connection with an incident involving a resident at the facility.

A criminal complaint filed with district judge Matthew Kirtland by Polk Borough police chief Edward Sharp alleges that Aaron Miles Truitt, 34, of Oil City, injured the Polk Center resident Oct. 11.

The complaint says that a witness told police that Truitt allegedly hit the resident and threw him to the ground “in a defensive manner, not in self-defense.”

Truitt has been charged with misdemeanor counts of threatens care-dependent person and simple assault and summary counts of harassment and disorderly conduct.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled Nov. 28 in Venango County Central Court.
