Oil City tree gets attention

Christmas has come and gone, but a little tree in Oil City is still keeping the season bright – literally. Soon after Denny Mylarski’s decorated tree on the S curve of Plummer Street appeared in the newspaper earlier this month, comments rolled in on social media. “Makes me smile. Thank you that you took time to make someone else’s day,” Susan Sparks, of Titusville, posted. Betsy Fleming, of Oil City, wrote, “Thank you for this, I drove by yesterday with my mom that is now in Hospice. And she said, ‘who thought we would see a tree decorated in the middle of nowhere,’ as she smiled. Thank you again and have a Merry Christmas.” The tree also got the attention of Santa, who left Mylarski a strand of solar lights, which he shows in the picture. “I admit I got a little emotional,” Mylarski said.
