Oil City man facing drug charges

From staff reports

An Oil City man is facing charges after he was found under the influence of drugs and in possession of methamphetamine Monday at an apartment complex.

Sugarcreek Borough police said in a criminal complaint they responded to a call about a suspicious man at the Commons Apartment complex at 9 Crestview Drive at about 7:30 a.m. Monday and found Kevin Fike, 47, mumbling to himself with his head resting on a picnic table.

Police arrested Fike on an outstanding warrant, the complaint said.

When police searched Fike at the police station they found two “large pieces” of crystal meth, weighing five grams, in a cigarette pack in his front pants pocket as well as drug paraphernalia and 0.06 grams of meth in a plastic baggie in a backpack Fike had with him, the complaint said.

Police also found a clear bottle containing what appeared to be urine in an attempt to avoid detection in a drug test, the complaint said.

Fike was charged with a felony count of manufacture, delivery, or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver, misdemeanor counts of possession of a controlled substance, use/possession of a controlled substance and furnish drug-free urine-unlawful sale/attempt, and a summary count of public drunkenness.

He was arraigned Monday and placed in the Venango County jail after being unable to post bail, and his preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 15 in Central Court.
