Man escapes injury in I-80 crash

A Cochranton man escaped injury in a tractor-trailer crash at 4 a.m. Tuesday on Interstate 80 in Irwin Township. Clintonville fire chief Gerry Rea said the crash occurred near mile marker 30 in the eastbound lane when the rig’s headlights went off, causing it to veer off the roadway, crash through the guiderails and roll over. Authorities cleared the scene by 5:30 a.m., and the rig was towed later in the day, Rea said. Franklin state police and Superior Ambulance Service assisted at the scene. (Submitted by Gerry Rea)
