Jolly July 3rd to culminate with fireworks display

The Oil City Arts Council will hold its annual Jolly July 3rd festival from 5 to 10 p.m. Saturday in Justus Park, located in downtown Oil City.

The family-friendly event provides a festive evening of food, music, and fun for all ages with plenty of room for social distancing and a spectacular view of the Allegheny River.

This year’s activities include a kid’s magic show, balloon animals, dog obedience/agility demonstration, and a mechanical puppet demonstration.

The evening also will feature food vendors, live music by Mostly Brass and Lawyers, Guns & Money. It will be topped off with a fireworks show sponsored by Oil City Firefighters Local 700.

Those who attend should take a lawn chair or blanket for seating.

Here is a look at the schedule:

5 to 6 p.m. – Music by Mostly Brass

5 to 5:30 p.m. – Kids’ magic show by Real Magic Steve with balloon animals afterward

6 to 7 p.m. -Clarion Canine Obedience Club will present dog obedience and rally demonstrations, dog agility and tricks, dog safety, and more

7 to 10 p.m. – Music by Lawyers, Guns & Money

10 p.m. – fireworks display

In addition, Greg Wilson will tour his mechanical puppets around the park, and food vendors will be present.

Hand sanitizing stations will be available.
