Altomare steps down from Titusville chamber

From staff reports

After serving five years as the executive director of the Titusville Area Chamber of Commerce, Emily Altomare has announced her resignation.

She has accepted the position of communications and tourism manager at the Oil Region Alliance. Friday was her last day at the Titusville chamber.

“The chamber has provided me a special opportunity to serve in a variety of capacities with so many organizations and individuals and learn what they care about and help them achieve their missions,” Altomare said.

Altomare coordinated many community activities and events including an annual golf outing, the Oil Festival, wine walks and more.

After hearing from many people about the need for transportation across Crawford County, Altomare was a proponent in establishing the Crawford Area Transit Authority route between Titusville and Meadville.

“Because of the work of so many organizations and individuals, that route is now running two days a week,” she said.

“Sometimes it takes a concerted effort to make change, and the chamber is a great place to bring those voices together and have them heard,” Altomare said.

Susan Drake, the chamber’s longtime administrative assistant, will serve as interim director while the chamber board selects a new candidate to fill the position.
